PROTECT MANGROVE FORESTED WETLANDS

There is a significant amount of environmentally sensitive lands in our area including mangrove forest wetlands along Lemon Bay which could be developed in the future if not conserved today.  Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast (“CFGC”), based in Osprey, FL, works to conserve vital lands in Florida and is an ally of SMKSA.  CFGC has identified the area’s large mangrove wetlands are candidates for conservation and has ordered an appraisal of this wetland as the first step in an effort to purchase and conserve this land forever.   CFGC is kindly requesting a donation from the community of $800 to cover half of the appraisal cost.  Please consider contributing any amount to SMSKA in order for us to provide this donation to CFGC.
